hoodia gordonii...any takers?
by kittyeatzjdubs ini started taking this as a appetite suppresant friday.
i've searched high and low on the web and have yet to find anything negative about it....so far it works and i don't feel jittery or nervous.... here's a full story on it.

Hope this helps. It's from http://www.virilityhealth.com/acatalog/hoodia_gordonii.html
Hoodia Gordonii may be destined to become the top weight watcher supplement of the year - and stay there! Dried powder or extracts of this cactus like plant from the Kalahari Desert in southern Africa tricks your brain into thinking you have a full stomach, the result being no hunger pains. This is not a "fat burner" or metabolism booster. It simply negates - as in "no desire" for food - your appetite for up to 24 hours a serving. Desert natives of the Sans tribe use it to go 2 or 3 days at a time without food and function normally. There are no known negative side effects, though some reports say many users experience a "good feeling" and others report a noticable aphrodisiac effect.
Looks like you're maybe on a winner with the side effects too

Are You For or Against The Death Penalty?
by minimus inpersonally, i have nothing against executing wanton murderers.

I'm against the death penalty. If it was to be reintroduced in the UK it should only be in cases beyond reasonable doubt ie only where there were witnesses. DNA evidence sometimes (rarely admitedly) and circumstantial evidence gets it wrong. I'm thinking at the moment of the father who has been released pending retrial for the murder of his foster daughter Billie-Jo Jenkins (?). Rough Justice made a programme on this case about 10 years ago proving that the evidence that the police had brought against him was extremely unreliable plus they had ignored other possible suspects.
If the penal system was revised, I would like to see:
1.Sentences where life means life.
2.No time off for good behaviour on any jail terms - but time added on for bad behaviour.
3. Prisoners should be made to earn their keep whilst inside, if they won't work, they have to do firstly without 'luxuries' eg cigarette money, tv etc. even food if they don't earn enough to buy it.
4. No section 43 (for paedophiles, child killers etc) - you do the crime, you do the time, no special protection.
Finally, if a killer actually wants the death sentence, give them bootlaces and 2 bottles of paracetamol! (*extremely tongue in cheek*)Seriously, I sometimes wonder if this request is made out of an inability to face up to the consequences of their actions.

Was Jesus PERFECT in his human form?
by sinis ini know most christians say that he was.
however, i find it very intriguing that paul says in: romans 3:23 - "for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of god" and again in romans 6:23 - "for the wages of sin [is] death; but the gift of god [is] eternal life through jesus christ our lord.
" so was jesus an imperfect individual on earth and only through his offering up his body/blood by being faithful to the end was his offering deemed pure?

Hi sinis
incapable of sinning at all
My first thought on this was he wasn't incapable of sinning otherwise he wouldn't have been human. The Bible says this much 'He was tempted in all ways as we are but did not sin' . Also, there wouldn't have been any point in Satan tempting him in the wilderness if he wasn't capable of sinning.
I liked that previous analogy of the 'spoon or fork to eat soup' although I never thought of it like that before! Maybe Jesus was 'perfect' in that he was a suitable ransom sacrifice - he didn't sin only with respect to the fact that he was totally obedient to his Father's will. Other things which we would regard as possibly sinful such as his getting angry wouldn't then impinge on his 'perfect' state.

Statement #1: The clergy of Christendom often say to those suffering adversity that God sends such experiences to teach a lesson, to bring them to their senses
Statement #2: God responsible for the permission of evil and a party to it.
I have yet to hear "clergy" make Statement #1 but they certainly would Statement #2.
Most of the clergy I've heard over the years have said statement #1 more than statement #2 - Either way though, it's not good.
I've never seen the WT interpretation of the parable before but having read it, yes they certainly have twisted their interpretaion. I especially like the way they decide that the older 'prodigal who never went away' is outside the organisation along with the younger, rather than admitting (like the Pharisees) that this brother refers to the judgemental and unforgiving attitude found within the organisation, which makes them the unrepentant ones in need of the father's forgiveness.

Questioning the Big Bang Theory
by Rod P inbut halton arp's continuing research will forever change the direction of astronomy.
or do our observations of nature show things that a theory says are impossible?
gamow had argued that the stars' temperatures are too low to create elements heavier than helium.

I think all this might be a bit over my head but I love looking at all the pictures anyway!
I clicked on one of the Google ads in an idle moment and came up with this:
http://www.cosmic-cycle.com/pages/welcome.php
It seems to have a slightly different view on the big bang theory without accepting or disproving it. Thought you might want to check it out (the 'concepts' section possibly the most useful) - then again it might just be a crackpot idea.
My own humble, not very scientific view at the moment is that there could have been a big bang - but something must have caused it. And would you call the formation of supernovae/galaxies (not sure which - but when a star explodes and creates loads of little stars and planets) the result of 'little' big bangs? I might not input much to this thread but will be following closely to try and learn something! Thanks to you all!!

A wasp crawled up my trouser leg once - only I didn't know what it was until I tried scratching the itch - then the thing stung me three times before I managed to get my trousers off. Can't remember how many times I stamped on it I was that mad, but I couldn't find the body!
I've had a 'kill on sight' attitude to wasps ever since
